Introduction
Since the summer of 2019, I just got out of school and was desperate to look for a job for the satisfaction of making my own money, money that I could spend for myself. Quickly after I started I was assigned to the opening shifts on the weekend, 6 AM - 2:30 PM. I started as a cashier and learned other positions like prepping the food or bagging and keeping clean while it's busy. Now 3 years later I've learned all the positions and I'm faster than I was when I started. |

Once I'm in full uniform I clock in at 6:30 pm and get ready for a closing shift. Today we were short on staff so I had to cover someone on drive-through, usually, I work on the line which is where all the food is prepared and bagged, but we had two people on the line which was enough. For the first 3 hours, I was on drive through alone and it got a little busy but not too much. I started with re-stocking my area with cups and lids, coffee, and checking in the back for any soda that might be running out. I got my 30 after this, I made myself a Baja Blast and sat down. After this, I clean my area then follow with sweeping. Around 10:30 we switch the food pans to other locations so we can keep them warm while we clean. I finish cleaning all the leftover tacos, nachos, and meat I place all the containers back and sweep and mop the whole store. Our store closes at 2 but has an extra hour of cleaning, but since I did the cleaning earlier all we have to do is put the food away, wash dishes and lock the store. Hours: 8 |

Today I'm working a mid-shift 2:30 AM - 10 PM, after I clock in I check the schedule to see if anyone is going in as a cashier ad its just mee today. I prep my area by stocking up in case of a rush and sweeping. The first couple hours were long and slow, I've mastered being on drive-through alone its all about multitasking as I'm charging one person I'm listening and taking the order of the person who just pulled up. when it's slow it's easy but when there are a lot of people on the line and it's just you, it can get difficult especially if theirs a complaint. I got my 30 at around 5:40 and sat in the office while my general manager offered m some cookies. the night ends off being busy which makes time go by really fast, but it was easy compared to being on the line all day. hours 8 |

since I have school tomorrow today in working 5 hours, as I clock in I see that there are two people on a drive through I feel relieved because it's stressful after a couple of days just being alone on the drive. I wash my hands and put on my gloves and get a headset. whenever I go on the "line" I'm always "steamer". the person that starts the food. (for example, starting the burrito or the taco) whoever is steaming in shift has to always wear a headset, I start making the order as soon as the person speaks, this is also a lot of multitasking because while you listening to the person on a drive through you have to communicate with your co-workers what order is which, where it stops or what goes on it. I worked in the line which made my shift go by super fast because you don't focus on the time. hours: 5
